Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Shampoo

A Nice Basic Shampoo That Smells Really Nice

I'm not a huge believer in shampoo helping out your style, so don't buy this hoping to give yourself beach waves - you'll still need to style. However, if you're looking for a shampoo that doesn't cost a fortune, won't strip your color, and smells nice, this is the shampoo for you.

Great Hold, Hasn't Let Me Down

It can be hard to find a hairspray that doesn't end up making your hair look weird or make it horribly crunchy AquaNet-1985 style. This reasonably priced spray lives up to my expectations. I've used it to style both an updo as well as a soft wave and I was pleased with the performance with both extremes. For this price, you can't beat it.

    Great Mousse for the Price

This pleasantly scented mousse gives a light, weighless hold which works really well for curly styles. Bonus points for offering heat protection for heat styling.

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Spray Gel

Works Well for Straight or Rolled Styles

I have thick hair already, so I don't need a whole lot when I'm doing a heat style. The spray gel does a good job of giving a little extra hold. Has a pleasant violet scent, and the price point is certainly reasonable. A very good product for the price.

    Chapstick True Shimmer

Far And Away Better Than Regular Chapstick

Don't get me wrong, I do love me some Chapstick. In fact, I'm pretty certain that there is a tube of it in my nightstand drawer, my bathroom, and my purse. I'm pretty passionate about not having chapped lips. But as well as it has always worked, it seemed a bit dry, hard to apply if your lips were already chapped and it wasn't slightly warmed, and flavorless. But now Chapstick has gotten in the beauty game with a release of some new Chapstick Shimmers. These are much more moist, give your lips a slight bit of shimmer, and have nice scents and just a small touch of flavor. I'm not a huge fan of the berry scents they have available - Botanical Berry and Blended Fruit Sherbert are sitting on my desk almost unused, but the Tropical flavor is right up my alley. Pina Colada scented, this is perfect for all your summer lip balm needs. The downside? No SPF, which is a real problem, so keep that in mind when you're choosing your balm for the day. I personally use mine at night before bed, when I don't need the SPF protection.

  • Elizabeth Grant Soleil Smart Lip Protection

This is a wonderful, non-sticky gloss that offers up solid SPF 15 protection for your lips. I like to wear this underneath my regular lip color, especially since hearing that wearing gloss alone doesn't do any favors to your lips regarding the sun. It's nice enough to wear on it's own and wears nicely.

  • Elizabeth Grant Soleil Smart Face Bronzer

Gives a very subtle glow with no orange overtones at all. I found the product to be slightly on the runny side, but this is actually a bonus if you like to apply it with a cotton pad as I do. Price is higher than I normally pay for a facial bronzer, but the results are very nice.

  • Elizabeth Grant Soleil Smart Body Bronzer

If you want a bronze glow, this is the bronzer to give it to you! It's a lovely brown, with no orange glow. However, you have to be diligent in your application, because this will streak. I consider myself fairly experienced with self tanning products, and I can tell you that this one required every bit of my skill to manage, and I still ended up with a few spots that just didn't work for me. I wouldn't attempt this one without gloves, and a great deal of patience and attention. There isn't any rushing through this application. However, the bronze will be well worth it. A couple of downsides: there is still the noticeable smell (which doesn't bother me nearly as much as other people - I apply it at night and shower again in the morning, no problem), and the price point is fairly high.

L'Oreal Paris HiP Studio Secrets Professional Kohl Eyeliner

Lovely Color, Perhaps Not for the Novice - Practice Makes Perfect!

The first time I used this product, I had a problem with it. I didn't apply it very well, and some product ended up in under my contact and irritated my eye pretty badly. However, practice makes perfect with this applicator, and the more comfortable I got with it, the more I liked it. I've always liked a stiff brush for my liquid eyeliner, and many of the same benefits apply for a powder liner. If you apply the hard applicator at an angle and drag it along the eye, you will get a beautiful, traditional kohl line that can be built on for more depth. The pigments are nice and dark, just the way I like them, and even on the lighter colors like gold, they don't get lost on the eye. To reduce fallout, which is a problem with any powder liner, in my experience, make sure to tap the applicator wand well against the bottle before pulling it completely out.

A Good Gloss in Some Weird Packaging

I think this is a pretty ingenious product - the ability to take two colors to blend on the lips, or just the ability to carry them together is pretty sweet. However, it looks much cooler than it actually is. It took me near five minutes just to figure out how to open the cap, and another two minutes to figure out how to get the product out. There is a trick to it - you can't just apply it and go at first. The gloss is nicely pigmented, but after using it, I wasn't really sure what the benefit was of having two lipglosses to blend. It get it with heavier lip color, but it almost seems like overkill with the gloss. However, the gloss itself is nicely pigmented, and not sticky at all. I was a little put off by the smell, which reminded me of an overly sweet vanilla cupcake. Probably not something that I would buy for myself.
