  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

    Love, Love, Love... : )

I was under the very sound assumption that you could not apply a pencil eyeliner on your eyelid. Your lash line, sure, but your lid? Not unless you wanted a painful experience with a hard, skipping, colored pencil-like apparatus or a smeary, too-soft mess. I have found a new definition of eyeliner in Urban Decay's 24/7 eye liner pencil. The pencils are creamy, smooth and so unlike any eyeliner I've tried. While it is super creamy and soft, once you apply it it stays on until you take it off. And you can't talk about Urban Decay without talking about color; the pencils come in the most vibrant, true-to-color shades and while the company is known for it's wild colors (and they do carry them) they also come in the most demure, pretty neutrals. Perfect for day. Holy Grail of eyeliner. Love.

  • TRESemme 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse

TRESemme 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse

Body, body, body...at a great price.

This is a fantastic mousse for the price. For any price for that matter. If it's body and fullness you want look no further than this product. I used just a bit on my roots before I gave myself a blowout and my hair was full, bouncy, and shiny. The only drawback is it stays a little sticky even after you blowdry. Overall, this mousse lives up to its claims and is a great value.

  • Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Hairspray
    9.0

Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Hairspray

Just like an expensive salon brand...for less

I really like this hairspray. It holds well without being too stiff and is never, ever sticky. It holds your style well and has bounce back when you brush but never feels as if you've piled on the product no matter how much you spray. And the added bonus of extra shine? Perfect. L'Oreal Elnett has nothing on this hairspray (and it smells much better, too.)

  • Maybelline New York Dream Liquid Mousse

This is great if you really like the Dream Matte Mousse foundation but have skin on the dry side, like me. I really liked the Dream Matte Mousse for its velvety texture but it wasn't moisturizing enough and actually accentuated dry spots and flakes on my face. The Dream Matte Liquid foundation is just the right texture for normal/dry skin; it blends so smoothly and stays looking fresh and glowing all day, not greasy and not too matte. Like some of the other reviwers said, the shades are on the dark side so choose one shade lighter than you'd normally pick.

  • Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Mousse

I have semi-fine, wavy hair which I wear wavy a lot of the time and straight sometimes. This mousse did not do it for me; it left my hair stiff and undefined; my waves actually looked stiff and straighter. The hold was soft and it smells really good, but it did not come through for defining my naturally wavy hair.

  • Almay Bright Eyes Eye Base + Concealer

Finally a budget concealer that hits it right on the head with the yellow tone to counteract dark, blue undereye circles. This concealer does it's job of concealing shadows and brightening up the whole eye area. As far as the eye base part? They could have left out that gimmick and just stuck to what the concealer really does well. The applicator isn't genious, but it's not ineffective either though I could have done without the messy, squeezy tube and brush. The formula and the concealing and brightening qualities are worth the purchase here; it accomplishes these feats better than any other drugstore concealer I've tried to date.

  • L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara
    3.0

L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara

    Gimmicky doesn't deliver the goods...

I am always cautious when a budget brand piggybacks on a luxury brand's new technology, however suspicious of the technology I am in the first place. This was no exception. I received this mascara to try and I gave it a week. Really, this mascara is nothing special; the formula is creamy but it doesn't stand out in the lengthening or volumizing categories. As far as the supposedly innovative applicator that makes it easy to reach "even the hard to reach corner lashes", I found it cumbersome to use and really too blunt to reach those little lashes. All this mascara is is a lack-luster formula with a gimmicky applicator that seems cool, but really doesn't deliver. Definitely not worth the purchase.

  • Avon BEYOND COLOR Radiant Lifting Eyeshadow

This is my BIGGEST beauty secret. I absolutely love this product. I don't know what made my try this in the first place but I would not be without this product now. I wear it under powder shadow and it instantly makes any pigment (and any cheaper, less pigmented shadow) look richer and stronger and more shimmery if you're using a shimmer formula. I get so many compliments on my eye makeup when wearing this product, even makeup artists have asked me if I was wearing MAC or CHANEL eyeshadow and were dying to know which shades. Recently, some of the higher-end companies have been coming out with some eyeshadow primers (like Urban Decay) for double and triple the price; don't do it! Get this product. The shade I love is Tiger's Eye; it's a great neutral brown that will work under most neutral shades of powder shadow. Oh, and did I mention it's waterproof? A+

  • Avon Beyond Color Radiant Lifting Concealer

I really like this concealer. It is smooth and moisturizing and brightens the eye area. I have never experienced it settling into lines or creases and it has pretty moderate coverage; not enough for serious circles or discoloration. The only drawback is the shade selection. It's worth and order, though.

  • Neutrogena 3-in-1 Concealer for Eyes

I would expect more out of Neutrogena (I am usually the first to sing their praises for their products) than this mediocre concealer. It just doesn't cover dark circles (even my mild ones) and settles into any fine lines I do have under my eyes (I'm only 25) aging that area. It's also not very moisturizing and tends to get cakey and dry after only a couple of hours. I'm using my tube up and moving on.
