I like this gloss, but not for it's plumping abilities, of which I don't think there are any. I like the fact that it's lightly tinted, has great shimmer, and usually looks great over a creme lipstick. It's not the one that I always reach for, but it's a good overall basic gloss.

Unlike many others here, I experience a bit of chipping with my MAC polishes. I have to be very careful to get a topcoat on them as soon as possible so that the manicure has a chance of lasting more than a day or two. But the colors just can't be beat - always vibrant and on-trend, you can't go wrong choosing your polish at the MAC counter. My personal favorite is Rocker, a dark red with a light sheen for a touch of glam. This is a permanent color in their collection, versus a limited edition, so it's always easy to find.

If you use waterproof mascaras, eye liners, or lipsticks, you will need this cleansing oil to help take it off without leaving skin stripped and dry. It is an oil, however, so you will have an oily residue, there isn't any way around it. But it's dependable and easy to use, maybe just a bit overpriced for what it is. But earns a permanent spot in my makeup cabinet.

I love MAC's Paint Pots - you can use them as a cream-based eyeshadow or as a primer to keep a powder shadow on. My favorite color is Groundworks, which is a basic brown that can be used on a neutral eye on it's own or as the aforementioned primer. Keeps powder shadow from creasing and helps eye makeup last and last.

I used this a lot in the 80s when I used too much Sun-In in my dark hair and practically ruined it. I recently rediscovered it and just had to try it out, and it is just as great as I remember! Makes hair so soft and smooth with an excellent scent. Quite tropical, really. The effects last and last - hair remains soft well after the next washing. I'm now using it once a week as a hair treatment. It's an inexpensive treatment that really produces results.

I can't write enough good things about this product. It is well worth every penny I paid for it. Here is how it works: you "pop" the liquid part of the package so that it seeps into the area where the pads are. This takes about two minutes, maybe three. Make sure your face is freshly cleansed, and open up the package and remove the pads. Lay one pad on each eye, lay down on your bed, and doze for 15 minutes. Towards the end of your 15 minutes, you will feel something going on in your eye area, and when you take it off, your eyes will look absolutely amazing. The difference was literally quite shocking. Pat your eyes dry if they need it (gently!), apply some excellent eye cream, and you are all set.

Burt's Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk and Shea Butter Body Wash
Nice Formula, But Can't Get Past the Smell
Honestly, every time I use this, the smell reminds me of the scent they use at the Rest Area on I-64 heading towards Washington DC. And while it's not an unpleasant smell in a public restroom, it's not what I want my body to smell like. It's a very strong, artificial smell, and somewhat difficult to describe. Obviously, I was very disappointed, since I never hear anything but good things about Burts Bees, but it makes me hesitant to try anything else. Perhaps I just have a sensitive nose.

This is an amazing lip glos. It almost looks like hot chocolate with an amazing amount of shimmer. It's deep and dark, which is perfect for fall. Lasts fairly long, especially for a gloss, and really does look fantastic on. I'm only taking a star off for the brush, which I can't stand. I'm not sure what it is about it, but I usually fix the application with my finger or another brush. Love this one.

I am a huge fan of cream eyeliners. I love liquid liners too, and I will even confess to a certain nostalgia for a fantastic pencil. But this liner is beyond fantastic. Super easy to apply with an angled brush, it goes on smoothly and stays put all day long. The color is dramatic without being over the top, and it came off easily with eye makeup remover. One of the best pots of liner I have ever used.

L'Oreal Paris Studio Line Perfect Fix Ultra-Fine Spray Finishing Hairspray
Great Hold Without Stiffness
I'm sure I'm not the olnly one who remembers the days of Aqua-Net in the white and pink can. In order to get those mall bangs and side wings as poofy as possible, copious amounts of the stuff were used. Not only was it really unappealing, it was hard to wash out. Since those days, I haven't been a huge fan of aerosol hair sprays, or any hair spray for that matter. But recently as I was trying to get my too-short hair to stay in a particularly difficult updo I reached for this spray and ended up being pleasantly surprised. It has excellent hold and it's not sticky or stuff. I found that it did a great job holing my updo in place and it didn't flake or otherwise get gross throughout the day. So if you're needing an occasional spray, I can recommend this one in good faith.
