The first week of September is one of the busiest times of the year. Whether you're getting kids back to school, going back yourself or just getting back into the swing of work. For me, August is spent shuttling back and forth to the beach. My hair is dry and tired from all the time in the salt water and under the bright sun. As busy as I've been, I haven't had the time to make it to the salon for a good chop, some new highlights, and toning. My complaints would be that at $28, it's not cheap and since I have such thick and long hair, it only lasts for a few treatments. Still much cheaper than having it done at the salon though. I did pick the Salon Glaze up thinking I will be washing my hair and this is one small thing that could make a difference. The result: after a couple of uses (it claims the effects are cumulative), my hair was smoother and shiner. The effects were most obvious on the underside of my hair where I don't have the highlights and my hair is significantly darker. I would buy this again. I think it's a good treatment, especially in between salon visits.

Forgive us the pun, but this truly is one of the "brightest" ideas we've heard of in the world of lip gloss. The Model Co. Lip Lights lip gloss actually lights up as you unscrew the top! The LED light stays lit until you close it up. Not only that, but it has a mirror on the side, so you can actually see how you're applying your lip gloss, no matter how dark the club you're in. We tried this ourself the other night at NYC's Green Fairy Garden. Not only did it work perfectly, leaving our lips with the perfect hint of shimmer and color, it garnered lots of attention from male and female admirers alike. We love the Indian Summer, a very wearable, nude color.

When I wear my hair wavy--usually on a humid day or when I'm at the beach, I spritz this into my fine, wet hair, scrunch and go. Typically I'm washing at night and letting it air dry. It never leaves my hair crunchy, but gives it the right amount of texture.

Love this shampoo! It smells SO good. I use it in summer months to bring out the curl in my naturally wavy hair. It really does the trick!

As a natural blond, I've been using brow enhancers for years. I LOVED the Prescriptives brow powder and was disappointed to learn it was discontinued. I tried out the Groomstick (in Hazelnut). It gave nice coverage and I like that it tames brows as well as colors them, but I went through it in about a month! So not worth the money. Bring back the powder!

I gave up wearing powder a few years back--I didn't think my skin needed it anymore. I was given a free sample of this and decided to try it on a hot summer day. I'm now a convert! It makes my skin look gorgeous. I use it over tinted moisturizer and it evens out everything. Best of all it doesn't ever settle into fine lines and make me look crepey--even around the eyes.

When we read about the new Clinique Lash Power Mascara Long-Wearing Formula challenge to brides to wear the mascara and swim, watch sappy movies, cut onions, walk on a windy day--we were intrigued. Clinique promises the mascara will stay in place through all of these and come off with warm water no heavy scrubbing required. Could it be the solution to our concealer problem? When we opened the tube, we were skeptical. The wand was practically anorexic compared to our old stand by, Dior Show. (Dior Show is on the right. Clinique is on the left.). It couldn't possibly give us the long full, lashes we love. But we put it on and it did! Passed test #1. We used our concealer-no powder on top- and set off for our job on a windy spring day. The result: When we got home, we were raccoon eye-free. It washed off in the shower without any rubbing or special eye makeup remover. We're converts!

Our friend Heidi wins the award for the longest dedication to a single beauty product: Guerlain's Terracotta. We can't say just how long because that would totally date her; suffice it to say she started wearing it with big bangs, a kinky perm, and leggings. She's not alone, this was one of the first bronzers out there and remains a big seller. Bonus, for the hot, humid weather, Terracotta powder is oil-controlling.

JSG's Annie has been using Nars Laguna since she was a beauty editor at Life & Style and a Sephora makeup artist recommended it. The artist's trick was to apply the bronzer as a "3" to each side of your face--meaning forehead, cheekbones and jaw line.

We've used this for a couple of years. It is absolutely the best complement to our skin. It's natural looking, easy to apply, easy to pack or carry in your purse. Kudos to Bobbi for creating another product that we can't live without!
