  • Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion & Peel System

I tried this a while ago, and I usually don't go for Olay products, and now I have more of a good reason not to, due to the company testing on animals, it's just not something I want to contribute to. It used to be simply because I though Olay products were just too expensive and also, a lot of it is anti-aging, which at this point I don't have much problems with, if anything, it's acne prone skin. When I started learning about animal cruelty, I found out about some companies that still support that, and when it comes to animal testing it really upsets me, so I will not be buying anything from Olay ever again. Now to comment on the product itself, it was one of the worst I have ever tried, irritated my skin, there was no improvement, what a waste of money.

  • Alison Raffaele Realty Base Foundation

Well, I received a sample of this foundation in my Total Beauty Collection box. When I first saw it I was excited to try something new, I have never heard of this brand before. I can't complain about the foundation itself other than the sample that I got was waaaaaay too dark for my skin, it came in as Skintone 3, and I would definitely need it to be about two shades lighter due to my skin being fair. So other than that, I really liked the texture, it gave my skin medium coverage, goes on easily, does not make me feel like I am wearing a heavy foundation, also, did not cause any new breakouts, which I was excited about, I would probably purchase this next time I need new foundation. Right now to finish this sample that I got I mix it with one of my light, different brand foundations, that way I do not waste any of it and the two mix so well together, my skin looks flawless after I apply it, I love it.

  • Aveda Be Curly Style Prep

    Aveda Be Curly Style Prep

    Big NO-GO for my hair

I bought this as a full-size product from a local beauty salon, after my hairstylist suggested it, even though I thought it was kind of pricey, I was hoping that Aveda would not dissapoint me. My hair is curly and frizzy, and somewhat dry, but I figured I will just let it be curly while using this product, which was supposed to control the frizz but at the same time let my hair be curly. I applied it while my hair was damp, when it got dry I hated the feel of my hair and the look of my hair. What I saw in the mirror was lots and lots of hair that looked extremely thirsty and very frizzy, a big dissapointment. While I will keep trying new products from Aveda I will not buy this product again, it did nothing for my hair.

  • Academie DermActe Antioxidant Cream Vitamin C and E

Ok, so another great sample I thought when I opened it for the first time and was excited to apply it in the morning under my makeup. What really sold it for me was the fact that it said it is an antioxidant cream, contains Vitamin C and E, helps prevent the premature aging by figthing against the environmental effects and, in particular, free radicals (according to the tube). Applying was easy except that I found it to be a bit too heavy for my skin, and I don't like that when it comes to creams, I prefer something more lightweight, it does have a nice, pleasant smell, but of course, if it is made in France, I am not surprised the smell is nice. One thing that I found upsetting was that it made me break out more for some reason, I felt like my skin freaked out, not sure why, I stopped using it and my skin calmed down, for that reason I will not use it again, and I am sure glad I had it as a small sample and did not spend that money on a full sized product.

  • pur-lisse pur~protect spf 30

I got a sample of this moisturizer in a Total Beauty Collection box, and could not wait to try it. I have acne prone skin and I always wonder when I get new products how my skin will react to it. Well I applied it the first day under my foundation that I wear daily, and I have to say it made things easier, I moisturized my skin and gave it some sun protection at the same time. Very easy to apply, not a heavy formula, you can not tell that I just put on sunscreen, it just looks like I used a moisturizer, one of the things I can not stand is a heavy cakey feeling on my skin with white residue. I noticed when applying foundation over the moisturizer it was effortless, made my skin look very nice, not oily, not dry, just perfect. I was outside about 40 minutes later and it was sunny and hot, and I am glad to say that this moisturizer/sunscreen passed my test =) Since I love trying new things I don't know if I will buy a full-sized product just yet, I will try some other brands as well, but I know that I have a plan B if I happen to not like the other ones.

  • Jason Lavender Deodorant
    7.0

    Jason Lavender Deodorant

    Jason Deodorant

So first of all I gotta say I love that it's all natural and organic. According to the label it is aluminum free, paraben free, no animal by-products or testing which is great, and I love the Lavender smell. The only reason I gave it seven starts is because it does not work for me as well as I hoped it would've, I am still going to stick to more natural deodorants, I will just have to try another kind possible, since I am looking for something that would last at least eight hours when I am at work...

  • Maybelline New York Great Lash Washable Curved Brush Mascara

Well about two years ago Maybelline Great Lash was my only mascara and I loved it, then I turned to something else, then about three months ago I bought it again, the Curved version of it and in Very Black. I am not too thrilled with it because it seems like I have to keep applying this mascara just on one eye for a long time before I get the desired volume and length, but then my lashes feel just too heavy. It could be the way I am applying it which seems like a lot of work to me. Another thing is I am currently learning more and more about animal cruelty and animal testing is the biggest of all that bothers me when it comes to beauty industry. Maybelline is one of those companies that still test on animals and it will not be part of my beauty routine anymore, I am officially getting rid of all Maybelline New York products I have and not purchasing any again until the company makes some changes.

  • Victoria's Secret PRO Voluptuous FX Mascara

So I have been using this mascara for about two weeks now and I love it. I give a lot of credit to Victoria's Secret for not testing on animals, so I was happy to know that I bought a cruelty-free product, which I think from now on will be one of my go-to best mascaras. The color is very black, makes my lashes look very long and gives it plenty of volume, definitely a good one =)

  • Dove Nourishing Oil Care Leave-In Smoothing Cream

the company does tests on animals, and for me if I am going to actually buy a full size product, I will definitely go with a product that is cruelty-free. I have dry, frizzy hair, and most of the time I wear my hair in a right bun so that does not help it either, but I am required to wear it that way due to my job. I am on the last drop of this product and I have noticed that it does help to maintain my frizzy hair, I found it to be very moisturizing as well. Another thing is it does not weigh my hair down, and even in humid conditions it fights the frizz. As I said earlier I like the product but I also know that I can find another product that does the same job, from a company that does not believe in testing on animals.
