Philosophy Purity Made Simple Foaming 3-in-1 Cleansing Gel for Face and Eyes
Gently cleanses and moisturizers.
This creamy cleanser is incredibly gentle and it doesn't strip your skin. Some cleansers can make me break out, but not this one. I tend to prefer this in the winter and switch products in the summer. I found the texture and tone of my skin seemed better when I use it. I keep a travel sized bottle in the shower! The only downside is it's not as effective in removing mascara.

I don't really have the haircut for a texturizing product, but I have used it enhance a natural wave. It adds a nice shine without looking greasy. I've also used it when putting my daughter's baby fine hair back (or mine up in a ponytail). It kept stray wisps from slipping out and provided enough "texture" for the holders/clips to grab onto. The only drawback is finding out just the right amount to use. The fragrance is a bit strong for a hair product, but it's not offensive. I definitely prefer this over Silky Dirt.

Hair products and hair-styling is not my forte, but I found this product easy to use. I've scrunched it into damp air and let it air dry for a natural, tousled look. It doesn't weigh down my fine hair. It also seemed to enhance the shine. Although it comes out air and looks like really whipped cream, it didn't do much to increase volume.

This product did thicken my lashes, but I needed to keep it at its lowest setting and apply multiple coats, which I was hoping to avoid in trimming down my primping time. The formula doesn't burn or sting and lasts without giving you raccoon eyes by lunch time. Honestly, I'm not going to buy this product again. There are much better formulas on the market in the same price bracket by both Avon and other companies.

Okay, I confess I am a diehard DiorShow (or Iconic) mascara addict. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I recently tried Avon's SuperFull Midnight mascara in Black Pearl. Don't waste your time with the "Black Pearl" the only time I really noticed a difference between that and the black was on my cotton pad when I removed it at night. Once I got used to the brush, it went on easily without clumping and darkened my pale lashes beautifully. The only negative I have (which is pretty big for me), is that it tends to smudge after a couple of hours and give me black rings under my eyes. (I get little enough sleep as it is, I don't need attention called to it.) So, I'm going to try their waterproof formula next. I was also pleased that it didn't cause any burning as I am a contact lens wearer and that just makes a HUGE mess moreso than when I'm not wearing contacts.

I was very excited to review my sample of YSL's Parisienne. I found it to be sophisticated and quietly sensual which is how I imagine many European women to be. This fragrance has a subtle sensuality that lingers after the dry-down period. The hint of berries keeps the sandalwood from becoming overpowering and it, in turn, keeps the rose from becoming too cloying. This is not a sweet, girly or flashy fragrance. It's understated and elegant. I wish it lasted a bit longer, but we can't have everything, can we? On a side note: my friend's daughter's allergies did not kick into over drive when I wore Parisienne and she is very sensitive to fragrance. (I use her as my test subject frequently.) As I approach owning nearly 30 full-size bottles of a variety of fragrances at all price points and all types, I can guarantee that Parisienne will be on my wish list. The holidays are fast approaching!

Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme is yet another terrific product from this company. When I did a stint cooking at a restaurant (which also included clean up detail), this was a lifesaver. I rub it into and around my nails a few nights a week to keep my nails looking their best. I enjoy the fresh, clean scent, but my young daughter doesn't like it.

This is a great product if you have fair to light skin. It gives a soft, warm glow without being overly shimmery or glittery. If you want a bronzer with a lot of pigment, this is NOT for you. I like that I can slowly build the intensity. This is also great to keep in your purse because you can use it as a blush and eyeshadow for easy, on the go makeup.

I am not a huge lipstick wearer, so I tend towards using lip glosses. This lipstick gives me the sheer color and the shine of a gloss with the staying power of a lipstick. My lips feel moist without the stickiness that often comes with glosses. When I'm ready to invest in more lipstick, I'm going to purchase this product again.

Don't expect this product to conceal dark circles or blemishes. It's not a concealer. This product works great dabbed lightly over concealer as it has reflective properties that help illuminate the under eye area. It doesn't crease or settle in lines. I like to put some in the inner corners of my eyes, a dab under the arch of my brow and sometimes a bit at the cupid's bow of my lip. A little goes a long way. If you don't have dark circles and have a light complexion, this might be all the product you need.
