I completely disagree with the negative reviews on this forum. If anyone knows how to wear mascara, if you want your curl to last, you need to use waterproof! Everyone should know this because the non-waterproof just makes the curl go straight! With about 20 years of experimentation, I've discovered this to be true. Now, I only use waterproof because it holds the curl I put on my lashes. I also find that the waterproof "lifts" the curl. I was hooked on this mascara after the first time I tried it. I knew better, so I purchased the waterproof formula. It lengthens my short, thin eyelashes. The technique to make it "not messy" is to make little Zzzzs as you apply it, rather than one straight upsweep on the lashes. The little Zzzs help separate & draw the mascara up to the tips. I literally see my lashes "grow" with this formula. I have traditional short, straight & thin Asian lashes, but with this mascara & an eyelash curler--I have lashes that rival the mascara ads because the end result is long, lush, thick eyelashes. It's not the mascara, it's the application techinque, girls!!! I have not had any problems with this mascara & I've been using it since it's debut. I wanted the "wet" look, but it can be overlooked if I acheive long, lush lashes with this mascara! A++
