    M.A.C. Lustreglass

    MAC LUSTREGLASS

Love Nectar is quite wearable to any occasion, and I agree it's versatile. I find it pretty on it's own or over lipsticks that need some extra shine! This was actually my first or second MAC lipgloss. I admire the brush tips on Lustreglasses and prefer them over the regular Lipglass doe foot applicators. Consistent with the majority of MAC glosses: this has a subtle vanilla scent, is just slightly sticky, and therefore long lasting. As a dusty soft rose color, with a hint of golden shimmers it isn't too in your face and perfectly acceptable for school, church etc.. I would repurchase! I'm not sure why I didn't buy this lip glass much sooner as I always loved the shade and the name but always passed it up at the MAC store. I finally bought this and I'm so glad I did. It's a gorgeous golden apricot color that looks great with my light olive skin. I like to wear it over Shy Girl (also MAC) lipstick to make the peach show even more. Nymphette is still my #1 favorite. This is a great lip gloss. It has just the right amount of shine, shimmer and color for perfect, naturally pretty lips. It is very versatile, it would go great on top of lipstick, and it's nice on it's own. It's very build-able and I like that a lot. You can use one coat for a natural, glossy look, or use two or three coats to get a nice, shiny color. I know most people don't like the vanilla smell, but I like it a lot. It's subtle, and makes me feel fresh. Overall, a great find. Fabulous color, a pinkish/peachish color flecked with gold but not in-your-face "disco" gold glitter. It looks as good indoors as it does outdoors and has that wonderful MAC subtle vanilla smell. As a plus, it has a brush applicator as opposed to the doe-foot or sponge applicator, too. The texture is nice. You can feel it sticking to your lips yet the gloss itself isn't too sticky at all. MAC, you knocked it out of the park on this one...My next step is to try it with the Stripdown (is that the right name?) lipliner from MAC to see if it looks as great as it does with the Chanel nude lipliner. I'd recommend this to all skin tones...I'm fair and if it looks this good on my porcelain skin, I'll bet it totally rocks on someone with tanned or olive skin!

    Aveda Mascara Plus Rose

    AVEDA MASCARA PLUS ROSE

I've tried tons of mascara brands, and I really like this one. The scent is nice, but that's not a selling point for me. I have sensitive eyes, and auburn hair, so I need a mascara that is non-irritating and preferably not jet black. I picked this up in Espresso and I'm pleasantly surprised. It is a very natural looking mascara. If you want to look like you're wearing false lashes that extend up to your brows a la Kim Kardashian, this isn't for you. If you want a natural "you but better" look, this is a good choice. It extended my lashes slightly, separated them, and made them look longer, thicker, and just overall fantastic. One coat was all I needed. I would call it an "enhanced natural" look. I had no issues whatsoever with clumping, flaking, seepage, or a long drying time. Perhaps they have reformulated? I love this mascara and will definitely repurchase! The first time I used this product I didn't like it because it didn't give my lashes that "WOW" factor that other (non-natural) brands have given me. However, since I've turned over a new leaf and started using all-natural skin care and make-up products, I've returned to this one and I LOVE it. It makes my lashes look naturally defined; no clumps or dead giveaways that you are actually wearing mascara. I'm going for the natural look now, using tinted moisturizer instead of foundation, and natural earth tones for eyes and only a hint-of-color for lips. My mom gave a compliment on my makeup when I first started using this product. She said, "your face looks great and your lashes look SO NATURAL!" If you're going for the natural look, use this mascara. Other natural brands are sometimes more of a "lash-tint"; this one looks natural but it is still possible to sculpt a great shape and curl by using an eye-lash curler. I'm still curious to try other brands, but when dissappointed, I will always go back to this one. I've repurchased this product repeatedly and will no doubt continue to do so- it's lovely stuff! It doesn't do anything terribly dramatic, but if you want conditioned, glossy, naturally defined lashes with a bit of lengthening and volumising effects, you'll love this... I know I do! Its conditioning formula means that I don't "lose" lashes during application, and my finished eye makeup is enhanced by glossy lashes that are soft to the touch. This product is scented and I do have sensitive eyes, but I've not had a bit of irritation from it. If I had to describe this product in a word, it’d be “clean.” It is a light, simple formula that darkens, conditions, and seperates your lashes, but doesn’t perform pyrotechnics. It looks utterly natural – which is what I want 98% of the time. This looks perfect for a day in the park or a family dinner – your eyes will look great, but not like you’re trying too hard. If you want a mascara that doubles the legnth of your lashes or plumps them into an extravagant fringe, this isn’t for you. If you want an easy to apply, effective lash enhancer that looks great in natural light and perfect for the office, give this a try. For the reviewers who write about flaking, I must say I’m surprised. My best guess is that they tried to layer on too much product to get the more pronounced look they’re accustomed to. With one simple coat, I’ve never had any problem with flakes or smudges. In fact, I first wore this for a teary wedding because I was told that this is the most water-resistant formula that doesn’t have the chemical junk that most waterproof mascaras use.

    Buxom Lash Mascara

    Buxom Lash Mascara

I had been searching far and wide for the perfect mascara for me. I've tried everything from Dior to Maybeline and never found something that I instantly fell in love with. I found a sample of this Mascara in one of my drawers and decided to try it and was glad I did! I have eyelashes that grow in separate directions on one eye so I can never get full eyelashes. Since this brush really separates the lashes I haven't had that problem since I started using it! I will definitely buy this mascara again...and again and again, it's my holy grail of mascara. So glad I got that sample! I do *not* have lush, full, thick natural lashes, so I'm always on the hunt for a mascara that makes me look like I have all those things. Winner! The Buxom mascara is fantastic. One of the things I like best (beyond the fact that it makes me look like I'm wearing false eyelashes) is that my eyelashes stay soft. They don't get brittle and funky feeling. There's minimal smudging, but I am 100% willing to deal with that in return for lashes like these. And it's truly, truly minimal. I received a sample of this from Sephora. It definitely has it's good points. It separates well, doesn't clump. But I didn't get much thickening or lengthening from it. It gave me a nice look, but more natural than I was expecting from something called "Buxom". I usually don't like this type of brush, but this one was nice to use. I have a terrible problem with getting the raccoon eye look under my eyes from nearly every mascara I try. This one is no exception, however it is much more minimal than most others

  • Fresh Supernova Mascara

    Fresh Supernova Mascara

    FRESH SUPERNOVA MASCARA

I am currently in love with this mascara. It is not perfect, but have yet to find one that is. My only complaint is that it straightens my lashes a bit. I must compensate by curling them for an extra second or two. This mascara goes on beautifully, does not flake, and lasts a long time. It is everything I thought YSL would be but just isn't. Sometimes I like to use the brush straight from the container. Sometimes I wipe off the excess before application. Either way, I like the way it goes on and wears throughout the day. In addition, this mascara is very conditioning. That has been an unexpected benefit. I will purchase this again. I'm so over the drugstore mascaras that flake within 10 minutes of application. I have decently long eyelashes, and this just takes them higher and higher. I love to apply this just by blinking my lashes through the wand, the color is PHENOMENAL. What a beautiful, rich, jet black formula. It comes off easily with a makeup removing wipe, I use Neutrogena wipes. Don't rub your eyes while wearing this, it will smudge on your lower rims, but I don't care, this mascara is worth every penny. It is my HG mascara. Also, I have straight lashes and I curl them, then apply, and it does a pretty good job of holding them up. The Armani Eyes to Kill is comparable to this but it is just not as wonderful as the Supernova. The color is much more intense, the formula is less irritating, it conditions your lashes, and comes off easily. LOVE. I was hesitant to try Fresh mascaras because of the mixed reviews. So I bought the mini duo instead of the full sized ones to save some money in case they don't work for me. However, I was pleasantly surprised by them. I've used numerous mascaras, from Dior, Lancome, Guerlain, YSL, Armani to L'oreal, Maybelline, and Rimmel. Fresh Supernova is definitely one of the better ones. The Fresh mascaras strongly remind me of Dior, with their large brushes. They perform similarly to Diorshow as well (better than Dior Blackout and Iconic IMO). They separate my lashes really well, and gave absolutely no clumping after a couple coats. Fresh Supernova lengthened my lashes very well, but did not give much volume. Overall, it is a good mascara for everyday use, but I would not use it if I want really dramatic lashes. Although I like it, I'm not sure if I would repurchase due to its high price. It's not bad, but I can get something even better with the money. I would recommend it to others, but it's not my favourite. It's very good, but not perfect.

  • L'Oreal Paris FeatherLash Mascara
    10.0

    L'Oreal Paris FeatherLash Mascara

    L'ORÉAL PARIS FEATHERLASH MASCARA

This is my favorite mascara, I've been using it for years. It goes on smooth, seperates my lashes and doesn't clump at all. It is very subtle and if you're looking for big dramatic eyelashes, this probably wouldn't be for you. I go for more of a natural look, and so for me it's perfect. It does dry out pretty quickly, which was my only issue with it. It's apparently been discontinued and I can't find it anywhere. I LOVE this mascara and have been using it for years. The main reason is that it goes on smooth and doesn't clump. Recently they've taken it off the shelves at drugstores and mega stores like Wal Mart (in my area, at least), so I've been trying out all other types and brands...with no luck. Everything else I've tried either clumps or flakes and absolutely needs to be corrected with a lash comb. If anyone can advise me on another mascara that's just like Featherlash, please let me know.... otherwise, I guess I'll be purchasing it online from now on. This is a great mascara for those with straight stubborn lashes. I'm of Asian decent and I have short straight lashes and I've been searching for a mascara that will give my lashes definition but will not weigh them down after curling them. I've had great results with Featherlash. I first curl my lashes with my Shu Uemura eye lash curler then I apply one or two coats of the Featherlash. It dries pretty quickly and my lashes are still curled! I have found with other mascara's that after I apply even one coat that my lashes tend to lose it's curl and start to droop down again, but with the light formula of Featherlash it doesn't weigh down my lashes. I agree with previous posts, that it doesn't give you the volume or "oomph" that one may be looking for when putting on mascara, but that's probably why it works so great for me. I really like this mascara. I'll start with the packaging & the brush. It comes in a pretty uniform, mature-looking, sleek silver & gold tube. Pretty basic. The brush is standard, too, nothing special at all about it. It's the old-school fibrous wand we all know and love/hate. I have this in black-brown and it's true to color. It's a very deep, charcoal-y brown but just shows up as a very dark mascara on your lashes. And as for lash-performance, this gets a 4/5. If the formula wasn't so thick, it would be easier to lengthen, but thickening my lashes, this mascara has no problem. I'll share with you how I thin this down... Fill a mug with really hot water and just let the tube soak for about five minutes...it make add time to your makeup routine if you use this, but it's totally worth it. The formula is just so much smoother and the color seems a bit richer, as well. I do this with all my mascaras but this one responds to that technique beautifully. I really use this for my eyebrows more often than I do for my lashes because once it gets on my lashes, it's not coming off unless I scrub with a makeup remover, but it comes off a bit easier on my brows and it's the perfect color. I have my hair black over a deep chestnut color and since it's fading, this has been so great with tinting and shaping my brows. The color makes them look very bold and groomed. This is HG brow material for me. I'll definitely rebuy. *As for being water resistant, it really REALLY is.

  • Clinique High Impact Mascara
    10.0

    Clinique High Impact Mascara

    CLINIQUE HIGH IMPACT MASCARA

This is my go to everyday mascara. The thing I love most about it is that is the first mascara that does not irritate my sensitive eyes! It gives nice volume to my lashes which is what I look for most in a mascara since my lashes are somewhat long and have a natural curl. I also love that a tube lasts longer than average before drying out so I can definitely justify paying a little more than the typical drugstore mascara which dries out a couple weeks after opening. I have repurchased at least five times and will continue to do so. I've used this mascara for years, starting out with the samples my mum would get from the gift with purchase and as I got older eventually breaking down and buying the full size. I absolutely love this mascara, but I recently decided to branch out and see if I could find one that I love equally for a lower price. I have light brown/blond lashes and the mascara really makes them defined, longer, and you can build it up to make it clumpy if you like. The formula isn't watery, and lasts me a long time. Overall a great mascara! If I don't find a lower priced mascara I like, I'm definitely going back to Clinique. This is one of the best mascaras i have ever used. It definitly gives me nice length but not too much. It's perfect for an everyday look for school because it helps your lashes stand out a bit but not too much over the top. It also doesn't flake at all and RARELY clumps up. Best mascara I have ever used. I have had countless affairs with other mascaras be it high end or drug store brands and I always end up re kindling my romance with high impact. Long, strong, voluminous sexy lashes and absolutely no eye irritation! I love Clinique for its non irritating eye products, I mean who doesn't have a somewhat sensitive eye area? This is my HG mascara for sure.

  • Shiseido Makeup Nourishing Mascara Base
    10.0

    Shiseido Makeup Nourishing Mascara Base

    SHISEIDO MAKEUP NOURISHING MASCARA BASE

I'm not very experimental with make up mainly because I like the simple but put together look with neutrals AND because I understand makeup to girls is like tech tools is to guys, impossible (figuratively speaking) to keep up with and can be very expensive. So I keep whatever works for me and am very loyal to it with the occasional straying which more often than not disappoints. So yeay to product loyalty and money saving. So I mention money saving quite a bit here because this was SUCH a novelty idea to me. A mascara base? Really? Needless to say I tried the UD primer potion and didn't think it was necessary at all. So like every case of 'I finally caved in', it was due to rave reviews...and so I caved in and got myself this nourishing mascara base. For some reason, I wasn't as skeptical with this product. Not sure why, but I was very excited. This paired with Lancome's L'Extreme mascara and BAM! I have the longest non false lashes I have ever seen myself have my entire life! LOVE! I first curl my lashes, use the base, then the mascara and when my lashes have 'set' I use a heated lash curler to just lift it a bit more and to push the tips down to have them curl (hard to describe). It adds a bit of volume to the L'Extreme which is specifically for lengthening which is great too! Definitely an HG routine I'm sticking to for a VERY long time. I have used both of Shiseido mascara bases, the discontinued one and this one. In a nutshell, I think this has better formulation with its smooth consistency and holding power. I agree with other reviewers that the Nourishing Mascara Base holds a curl really well, is smudge and smear-resistant, as well as volumnises and lengthens. All qualities expected of a mascara base, this one delivers, and more. But, this is not what amazes me about this product, I have tried other mascara bases that deliver satisfactorily. No, the thing about this product that got me hooked, and got me vowing to repeat-buy until they discontinue it (God forbid!), is the NOURISHING quality. The Nourishing bit in the name is no gimmick, it actually delivers!! I totally did not expect this when I bought it. I have long but somewhat sparse lashes. I have been using this product for about 3 months now, everyday before I apply mascara like I would do with any other mascara base, and I swear I'm not imagining things but my lashes are even longer, and thicker. I am completely wowed, and I am usually a skeptic when cosmetic companies claim to nourish, revitalise, repair etc. I repeat, this is something I did not expect at all and am beyond pleased with. My lashes are now longer, thicker and healthier-looking, although still straight (doubt I can do anything about that besides using an eyelash curler). LOVE! Mascara base is a necessity for me, but when I find one that delivers more than expected, it becomes a product I am completely loyal to. Packaging may be a tad unimpressive, but who cares? Anybody else using this product with similar results? Any added growth to your lashes? I had no problems with the changes when they switched from the old formula to this one. It's great and everything good that everyone says about this product is true. It holds a curl in my wimpy Asian lashes. I never bother with trying to get waterproof mascaras to hold the curl because they always end up breaking off or drying out my lashes. It's been a few years since I started using the original formula and I'm pretty sure that both the new and old formulas condition and nourish my lashes becase they don't break as easily and have grown slighly longer because they're healthier. I find it waterproof but really easy to remove with Neutrogena and L'oreal duo phase removers and Sensibio. If you've been considering this but think it's too expensive, just get it!

    mark Scanda-Lash Hook Up Mascara

    MARK SCANDA-LASH HOOK UP MASCARA

I think this mascara is fine. Theres nothing fancy about it, it gives a natural look and I would even compare it to Maybelines full and soft. It doesn't clump, it coats lashes evenly and brings them to just the right colour of a natural black. It is pricey for the small amount you get, and I would hesitate to purchase it on its own, but if it came in a package deal, I would use it. I have sensitive eyes and did not have any problems with this. I did not find that it flakes (which is what causes my sensitive eye issue), nor did I find it smudges during a 20 minute HIIT workout (major sweatathon). Overall, its a good BASIC mascara with slight thickening properties and if you want a natural look, this would be for you. Oh and it washes off easily which I found nice. I didn't have to use a seperate eye makeup remover for it. Cetaphil took it off just fine. This is a great casual daytime mascara. I don't get any flaking or smudging and definitely no dreaded racoon eyes at the end of the day. If you hold the wand vertically, it really does give a nice amount of lengthening without looking "spidery." I love the "hookup" packaging as I can keep my lip gloss du jour on the other end and pretty much be good to go for errands. I'm sure I'll buy this again for daily use but for nights or special occasions I'm sticking with my VS Beauty Rush mascara. I was reading some of the other reviews & wanted to throw a comment in. This mascara works AMAZINGLY well IF you curl your eyelashes, use a volumizing mascara first, let that dry & then use the scandalash as your second coat. I have never had such gorgeous lashes! I look like I'm wearing false ones. As with any product, it is all in how it's used! Also, the brush does need to be wiped off a bit or it will clump. I love it.

  • Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara
    10.0

    Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara

    MARY KAY ULTIMATE MASCARA

I don't know why everyone else has a problem with this stuff clumping. Maybe they are getting old inventory from their consultants, or maybe the mascaras are being kept in a warm place and then being shipped somewhere cold? Who knows. I got this from my old roommate who is now a MK consultant and she got it straight from them a week earlier. It works like a dream. Also, I used to be a makeup artist myself and one of the tricks I learned to keep a mascara fresh is to stir it, but not pump it as that adds air and thus bacteria. Stirring moves the formula around in the tube and keeps it homogenous, and it also moves the product around on the bristles. Also don't hesitate to clean out the mascara wand every now and again to get old product out. These things will help keep your mascara working well for at least 2-3 months. Their black is SUPER black, it stands out against any eyeshadow I love that about this mascara. It gives great length and volume and generally just amplifies really well. I've never had a problem with flaking or smudging or clumping or anything like that. And their eye makeup remover works like a charm on this stuff, I just put a little on a cotton round and it comes right off. (I do this before I shower and whatever I don't get with the makeup round comes off with face wash). This stuff is "waterproof/wash off" which means that it will come off in the shower if you use enough face wash but it's always better to use the makeup remover first. It does tend to stick a little if you don't and then it ends up under your eyes. This mascara isn't my holy grail (I still haven't found the one mascara that makes me go "WOW"), but it comes pretty close for the price and how long it lasts. Definitely buy this if you are on the fence! I was rather impressed with this mascara. I had heard from a friend that this was one of her favorite Mary Kay products so I decided to try it out. First of all I love the packaging. The shape of the tube makes it so easy to hold. The mascara really seemed to define and lengthen my lashes and even gave them some volume. It didn't weigh my eyelashes down either like some mascara. I could see where some people might have a little trouble with clumping if you build this up but I didn't have any problems at all since on a daily basis I'm too lazy to put more than one coat of mascara on. It stayed on a decent amount of time even though I have watery eyes sometimes and oily eyelids. I woud repurchase if I didn't have that problem with my eyes and the way to purchase this was different. I really need waterproof tubing mascara so I can use mascara on my bottom eye lashes. I purchased this last week at a Mary Kay party after trying it out. What I like the most about it is the formula- it is fairly thin, so it's easy to build from a natural look to a very full lash. I haven't had any problems with clumping, flaking, or running even with weather being in the 90s and humid. Awesome. However, I'm not a huge fan of the brush. Actually, I thought that the cheap, stiff trial mascara wand I used at the party yielded better results. The brush it comes with isn't bad- it doesn't clump- but it's very difficult to get into the inside corners of my lashes without getting bit of mascara on my lid. This could very well be because it's so new and the product tends to collect there for now while in the tube. I'm sure it will get better. I used to love this product when I was in college. I remember it coming in a silver tube, though. I wonder if they've changed the formula too, because I got some for Christmas and it seemed different. Mostly because it does not want to come off at the end of the day! Sometimes it takes several times to get it off, and I swear it's making the dark circles under my eyes darker. Other than that issue, it still looks good when I put it on.

  • Nivea A Kiss of Moisture Essential Lip Care
    10.0

Nivea A Kiss of Moisture Essential Lip Care

NIVEA A KISS OF MOISTURE ESSENTIAL LIP CARE

This is hands down, the BEST lip balm I have ever tried. I personally like a thicker, more conditioning balm and this is it! This balm is the "Essential" balm in the dark blue tube. I'm making the distinction from the one in the light blue tube cause the alternative is significantly worse than the Essential version. I can't seem to find this dark blue tube of wonder in store anymore, so I order in bulk online. It's a great night treatment for me, even topping my Jack Black Intense Lip Therapy. I love the texture of this balm. I can actually FEEL it on my lips, something that I truly enjoy as opposed to having more "slip" and lightweight balm. If you're looking for somthing more lightweight, buy the light blue tube. This balm doesn't have any issues with breaking me out around my lips and actually sinks into the lips, moisturizing deep within as well. Nivea "A Kiss of Moisture-Essential Lip Care" (non-SPF version!) came highly recommended to me by my regular physician. She said it was one of the best mild lip balms on the market (next to plain Vaseline) and I couldn't agree more. It's housed in a medium blue tube with a white cap. The balm is white, but glides on clear. It has a smooth and soft texture, not waxy, and has absolutely no flavor/taste. It's virtually fragrance-free -- I do discern a *very* subtle scent (Mustela-like?), but it's not enough to really notice, plus it's nice. The finish is glossy and it leaves my lips moisturized for hours. A perfect lipbalm for both day and night. My lips have been so dry and cracked around the edges recently due to weather changes. I tried the Blistex Restore/Revive product, which was the biggest waste ever. Luckily it was less than $2 so I didn't feel too bad about wasting money on it. I typically only use lip gloss everyday, but those do not protect or treat lips in any way whatsoever. I even tried using Vaseline in hopes that it would help because I've always had good exeriences with Vaseline in the past, in this case it did not help at all. I finally went to the store yesterday to find something else that would heal my lips. I found this product on sale for about $3 so I purchased it. I like Nivea product and this one gets relatively positive reviews so I got it. I love the packaging - it's light blue and really cute. The stick itself is solid white and applies on creamy. I noticed a difference in my lips within hours of using it. I applied it on last night and this morning my lips already look and feel so much better. This product works fast and feels so nice on my lips. I am glad I decided to try it because it works. It's saved my lips and I will continue using it. I will probably repurchase it in other colors/flavors just to try.
