    Lush Bubble Bars

Don't Waste Your Bar -- Learn How to Maximize the Bubbles

I used to work at Lush and we'd get people coming back into the store, upset that they'd wasted $12 on a single bath. First of all, if used properly, an entire bubble bar is going to give you so many bubbles that you wouldn't be able to sit in your bath. Obviously we'd get some people who would literally throw the whole thing in the bottom, but then we'd also get people who knew to crumble and still wound up with not much of an effect. The best method that I've tried is as follows: get one of those potpourri satchels that are sort of gauzy and have a ribbon-tie to tighten up the top. Put a small chunk of the bubble bar inside -- no more than about a square inch. It's better if you leave it solid, but you can crumble it if you prefer. Then put the mouth of the bag over the bathtub faucet and tie the ribbon around the neck. Turn on the water and let it flow through the bag at a fairly full blast. You will wind up with a TON of bubbles from a very small piece and will have a lot of the bar left over for future baths. My favorite is The Comforter -- gorgeous blackberry scent that tinges the bubbles a faint pink.

Lush Ocean Salt Facial & Body Scrub

Love It -- But Learn How to Use It!

I love this scrub a lot. It's brightening, it feels nice and tingly but it doesn't make my skin feel "tight." The problem is that a lot of people don't seem to know how to use it. I used to work at Lush and we'd get people coming in to return it because it had scraped up their face. First, you have to take a popsicle stick and really mix it thoroughly. They put big granules and lots of blue dye on the top for show, but applying it directly onto your face is a bad idea. Second, wet your face before applying. Applying it dry can cause the salt crystals to drag against your face, creating irritation. Third, rinse it off right away. It's not a mask and leaving it on longer will not have any effect other than drying out your skin. Fourth, don't use it more than once a week. If you avoid those 4 pitfalls, this will be one of the best exfoliators you've ever used.

    Softer than a Kitten

I'll be honest, I mostly like using this brush because of how it feels on my face. It's great for powdering down after applying a liquid or cream foundation, or for giving a light dusting of highlighter. But it feels amazing -- so soft and light with no shedding.

    Great Brush with Some Shedding

I got this brush a couple of months ago, so it's fairly new. It's great for buffing in your foundation, but the trouble I've had with it is that it's already "shedding" after very little use. Not much -- a stray bristle here and there -- but it shouldn't be losing hairs at all this soon into usage. Again, good brush for distributing product, but not the best quality, unfortunately.
