    Benefit High Beam Liquid Highlighter

    Great, but with some reservations

High Beam does light your face up, like it says. I like to mix some with my MAC concealer and use under my eyes, applying with an eye shadow brush - it aaalmost makes those circles disappear. However, it's too expensive, not good for acne-prone skin, goes all goopy after a couple of months, and the nailpolish-style brush annoys me.

  • MAC Lip Pencil
    9.0

    MAC Lip Pencil

The one and only for me.

I used to hate lip liner - it dried my lips out, looked unnatural, and never kept my lipstick in place no matter what the SA had told me. But now, I'm a convert. MAC delivers yet again!

  • Nivea Creme
    10.0

    Nivea Creme

    Little money very well spent

I use the German-made version that doesn't contain any of the suspicious ingredients Savvy Skin (http://www.savvyskin.com/get-a-125-wrinkle-cream-for-99-cents) mentioned in her review. That review was what made me go pick it up - I have no wrinkles yet, but I did need a good winter moisturizer and was short on cash. And true to myth, the Nivea Creme delivered. It doesn't clog my pores. It doesn't, miraculously, feel heavy or take forever to sink in. I use it on my face every night, and when necessary on my elbows, hands, knees... I cannot believe I haven't tried this sooner. AMAZING.

  • L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream
    8.0

    L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

    Luxurious, and effective

One of the most efficient hand creams I've tried, and it feels amazing on your hands. It's a bit pricey for a hand cream though, when you can get the same results (if not as nice-smelling and luxurious) from cheaper brands. I buy it when I want to reward myself!

  • Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes & Lips

I wish it was cheaper, but one bottle lasts FOREVER, and it works on practically any make-up. Press the cotton ball against your eye for five seconds, and you won't have to rub as much.

  • Philosophy Purity Made Simple Foaming 3-in-1 Cleansing Gel for Face and Eyes

I've been a good girl, cleansing-wise, all my life. I very rarely skip taking off my make-up - but a month ago, I noticed I was getting lazier... ired of having to wash my face twice (plus, removing eye make-up with ANOTHER product) every evening, tired of the money I spent, the time it took, yet it didn't improve my skin noteworthily either. Just kept it decent. So, after doing some research, I went and bought 'purity made simple'. And as skeptic as I am to hype - I am now a devoted follower. I never thought it would hold up to its claims (remove make-up, dirt, et c) - but it did. I even have to use less than the bottle recommends ("a generous amount"?). Of course I wish it was cheaper (after all, in the end a cleanser just goes down the drain) but when a product does what it should this elegantly, I cannot NOT love it.

  • Essie Nail Polish

Essie's nail polish lasts well and comes in a great selection of colors. It bugs me that it is so much more expensive here in Sweden (roughly 16 USD) than in the US, but I think it is worth it.

  • Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup

    Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup

    Unfortunately, quite 'meh'

After reading the other reviews, I'm starting to wonder if there was something WRONG with my tube - because I had such a different experience with it. True, it does cover well, and looks quite natural - but it is so hard for me to blend, it feels almost like rubber. It doesn't last that well either, and my skin looks dry after wearing it for a day. I have combination skin, but on the dry side - the Clinique girl said this was the one of their foundations I should use, but I'm not so sure. So, my tip to you thinking about buying this: see if you can get hold of a sample, or at least make sure to try it on your WHOLE face, and wear it for a while, before you buy it.

  • Dior Rouge Dior Replenishing Lipcolour

If this lipstick wasn't so expensive, I'd buy ten different colors and wear it every day. For now, it is my instant pick-me-up. Red Premiere is MY red. It makes me feel like a 40's movie star. Plum Pot is also an amazing color. I'm usually scared of dark, shimmery colors as I'm really pale and has dark circles under my eyes, but wearing it, I've never felt more glamorous. If you can afford Rouge Dior... Buy it.

  • MAC Mineralize Satinfinish SPF 15 Foundation

I have never stayed with the same foundation for more than one bottle/tube. I don't have that 'difficult' skin, really; I just want something light-weight, yet buildable, that easily blends and covers redness, uneven areas and occasional breakouts. It baffles me how hard it is to find a foundation that does that. So after trying Clinique's Perfectly Real and finding it so disappointing I didn't want to finish the tube, I headed to the MAC counter - that rarely fails me. But I could never have been prepared for... Mineralize Satinfinish. I use the #109 brush - and it is hard to describe how amazing my skin looks... It moisturizes. Lets is breathe. And most of all: I look like I woke up this morning with airbrushed, natural-looking, healthy, even, PERFECT skin. Unless someone finds me a foundation that will keep my skin like this permanently, I am never switching foundations again.
