Although I love most perfumes with rose notes, I have to say, after a few occasions wearing this I noticed too much of an artificial, chemical like smell. After initial application, an artifical sweet rose scent overwhlemed me. After an hour, it evolved into a more woodsy complex fragrance that balanced out the sweetness. I imagine this fragrance was targeted to a younger demographic that the original YSL Paris perfrume didn't appeal to - hence the intense sweet top notes? If the rose notes didn't smell so artificial, YSL may have had a winner in this. However, this smells to me what a perfume might smell like after it's expiration date. A rose past it's prime - but this perfrume gets some points from me because of the nice drydown.

L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara
Beautiful fan-like lashes but with extra effort
I have love and hate for the gladiator "mace-like" wand. You get clumps at the tips if you're not careful to start at the very root of your lashes. If you have Asian almond-shaped eyes (like me) you will find it difficult to get at the lashes in the inner corner of your eye. But other than that, this unconventionally shaped wand does a great job coating each lash and fanning out your longest lashes if you're careful and patient with application. The formula has its pros and cons as well. Pros: I was able to do 3 coats with a beautfiful false eye lash effect. The texture is wet and flexible enough to coat each lash for nice separation. The drawback: your lashes droop mid-day! Something about this formula weighs down your lashes. Make sure to curl your lashes before application. After a 4 day trial run using this mascara alone, I began to use my macara primer/base underneath (I use Shiseido's). It definately solved the "lash droop" issue and then I only needed 1 careful coat of this mascara for beautiful feather-like lashes. In a nutshell, this mascara does what it claims but with some extra time and effort. I'm able to achieve the same effect in much less time with my Shisiedo masacara base + Estee Lauder Turbolash mascara, so the L'oreal explosion mascara only gets a 6 due to the labor-intensive application.

It really upset me I spent money on such an expensive foundation that did zilch for me. They say it's buildable coverage but on days I preferred more coverage, the more it looked fake. There are so many powder foundations out there for much cheaper that work 100x better than this.

I use this mainly for my lips and hands at night. It looks like plain petroleum jelly but works 100x better. I don't know a better winter relief solution for dry, cracked hands and chapped lips than this awesome product. Great simple no-frills product to use at home. I keep one tube in the downstairs family bathroom and one on my nightstand.

I suffer from oily lids in the summer and this is the only product that keeps my eyeshadow, mascara, and eyeliner in place. Nothing smudges!

What attracted me to this mascara was Dior's suggestion to layer this on top of a coat of the original Diorshow. It definately created a more dramatic, sexy look. You have to be careful not to over-do it otherwise you end up with spider legs for lashes. Unlike the the original Diorshow (which I actually prefer), this is very wet and has a tendency to get goopy. It's not foolproof, but with careful application, works wonders in getting jet black, thick lashes. It also flakes less than the original Diorshow.

The most perfectly designed eyelash curler. The base is curved perfectly to fit the eye and doesn't pinch. As long as you replace the pad every 3 months, it gives you a soft, pretty curl - absolutely no crimping! They're constructed so well that I can't tell the difference between my 7 year old one and the newer one I recently purchased as a spare.

The tanning effect is residual and after only 2 consecutive days of use, I found that I had achieved a soft natural glow on the third consecutive day with nothing on! Do not let the sparkles startle you...there is no glimmer once you apply. It spreads evenly with no blotchiness. Apply this before or after your moisterizer, but definately BEFORE your sunscreen (if you use a separate sunscreen)or it may be difficult to distribute evenly or worse yet, pill.

My husband prefers his hair gels over this. I figured this would hold his thick, coarse, naturally wavy hair in place but he doesn't like it. I have to agree his hairstyle doesn't hold as well with this stuff.

I have Coral Reef and Pagoda - wonderful for most skintones (I have yellow undertones). These stayput for hours and it gives your lips a wonderful shine without being too glittery. Nice texture and beautiful color selection. Sleek packaging too. What's not to love? (well, maybe the price)
