So, at first I was really afraid to use this brand because it was only $2.50. I figured it must be really bad if it was that cheap. I recently stripped the color out of my hair and tried to dye it a light auburn (I'm a natural dark brunette). I botched it a bit and the color came out uneven. So I decided to go back to my natural dark brunette color. I took a leap of faith and bought two boxes of Colorsilk in brown/black. My hair falls just below the shoulders and I definitely needed two boxes to get good saturation. I would also recommend getting two if only for the extra conditioner- as some reviewers have complained about there not being enough. It really makes all the difference if you saturate your hair in the conditioner, work it through, and leave it for at least 2 min. In the end I was amazed that I got such great color for only $2.50 a box. I honestly can't tell the difference between this and more expensive at home kits (and I've tried A LOT). Also, the smell wasn't any worse than any other hair color and definitely not as harsh as formulas with ammonia. I got great natural looking color with dimension for only $5 when I was going to spend $20+ on a couple boxes of perfect 10. I will DEFINITELY buy again.
