  • MAC Charged Water/Renewal Defense

A pleasing aroma creates some therapy and a cool mist delivers a refeshing sensation. The easy press spray top disperses water finely onto the face and delivers a sheen layer of light moisture. Mind you, this is quite the price to pay for a water spray but it can be used to thin out powdery finish foundations in order to give it a dewy, skin finish. Other than mentioned, this is just another item that'll sit on the shelf until you decide what to do with it. It doesn't have a complete specific purpose but it's an alternative to moisturizers under makeup for those who loathe the greasy feel or texture of emulsions.

    MAC Select SPF 15

    Shake Soup and Apply

Fancy tinted moisturizer? This would be it. Don't be deceived by how much pigment you see in the glass vial as this goes on so sheerly, you can get just about the same coverage as a tinted moisturizer and the tinted moisturizer would have better benefits such as emulsifying the skin and deliver a more natural appearance. This product seems to settle into fine lines and accentuate pores as it doesn't deal too well with shine even when blotted with translucent powders. I'd pass on this foundation because it's not worth the price tag and it's not a natural finish for a supposed water based product.

    MAC Studio Tech

    Candle Face

Creamy, smooth, and flawless. Those are first three words that comes to mind when I think of Studio Tech. It can easily be buffed onto skin with the sponge or a brush then set with loose translucent powder. People don't realize this is a foundation and although it states it dries to a powder finish, this isn't necessarily true especially for oily skin types. After application, it may make a person camera ready and eager to walk on red carpet but hold on to that thought. Tomorrow, check your skin and see your dermatologist after a while of usage. This product does contain wax which can clog pores and even cystic acne. Regardless if MAC states it's dermatology tested, it's not exactly still the most skin friendly. I found it to be a bit on the thick side while the finish made me feel like a movie star, my skin yearned to breathe better.

    MAC Powder Blush

    Get Glowing!

I'd scream for this like a little girl would seeing her favorite boy band live. The color possibilities are endless and they don't you look like you were warped from another time zone at; all they're highly pigmented but superblendable. I'm a blush fanatic but I never was until I tried these. I'm regularly using tenderling and sunbasque as my blushes as they give subtle glow, hints of color, and pure radiance to my skin tone. They even have beige shades for sculpting and contouring the face and the amount of product should last quite some time. They come in many finishes such as shimmertones and sheertones so it shouldn't be too hard to find what you'll like but it will be hard finding which ones you'll end up taking home because it's a great blush line.

    Shine Like a Star

MAC's Lipglass helped their reputation quite a bit, especially when females like myself flock to the counter to see what the latest shades are. They have a gigantic selection of lipglosses ranging in shades only a hair lighter than the next to extreme contrasting bold shades. I love how the color deposits blend with either the natural lip color or enhance a lipstick by adding a sheer tint and glaze over the lips. Although, I must confess this isn't the most long lasting lipgloss, it does have a flexible finish. A thin layer will create subtle sheen and a thicker layer will have light reflecting off the gloss to create a more plumper pout illusion. I wished these little cases were a bit larger since a tube usually only lasts me a few weeks or so because of constant reapplication.

    Dance the Night Away!

I'm fearful of cream or gel eyeliners, just terrified. I always remained faithful to a pencil but one day at the MAC counter, I finally had to talk to the associate about my sneezing or blinking problem. As odd as that sounds, I was referring to how my eyeliner smudges regardless what the labels from the companies state, I'd have racoon eyes by mid day and bare eyed by evening. She opened this tiny glass jar of black gel and swore it had lasted her the entire evening while she was out clubbing with her girlfriends the past weekend. Still skeptic, she applied it to her wrist and let it dry for a bit and tried to smudge it with her finger; it stayed put. Ok, I'll go for the challenge. So I went home and purchased a fine eyelining brush from Sephora and applied this. I didn't dare to look in the mirror all day, I waited for someone to stay anything to me instead. Alas, before washing my face, I saw the precisely drawn lines on my lash lines still perfectly there and hadn't budged yet my oily skin shined which means it is a superb eyeliner. Four months later, the jar still looks barely untouched and I use this almost daily. It really is so much product for the price paid. I probably won't be returning to the pencil unless I can find a pencil that does exactly what this gel eyeliner does. As for beginners, they may have a tough time using this because it requires precision application and a very thin yet firm brush to tightline the lashlines. Even more exciting news - they come in more colors than just plain black and brown.

    Shades Galore

Moisture rich, never overdrying to my lips. This is my kind of lipstick and while I'm not a big fan of lipstick nor wear much of it, after several brands and years later - this has to be my absolute favorite. With a mediocre price tag, it's results are quite the opposite. It's a long lasting, highly pigmented stick that doesn't disappoint and delivers exactly the color on the tube. The only set back in my opinion is that they appear as if they're ready to shoot out of a shotgun; the bullet shaped container doesn't appeal to me very much. I feel it takes away some of the girlie glam feel a bit. Nonetheless, it's a great addition to the makeup kit.

    Dior 2-Couleurs Eyeshadow

    Sweep, Swipe, and Swift

Lighter shade brushed over the lid, darker shade in the crease blended for contour. Sounds easy doesn't it? Because it is. However, somewhat sheer, they are buildable in intensity but don't expect any exciting palettes from this line. They're more neutral and subtle so if you need a makeup combination for the office or meeting your boyfriend's mother, this is your best bet from the Dior line. It's the convenience of not having to be so indecisive about choosing coordinating shades but the shortcoming of vibrancy and glamour.

    Dior Cleansing Water

    Speed Dial Your Dermatologist

For almost thirty dollars, you'd think this will astound you past beliefs only to find that it had wreckoned with the quality of your skin. My skin was irritated and reddened after a couple of uses and sweeping my skin with a cotton ball saturated with my toner left me astounded all right... because my toner removed my makeup instead. Cleansing water is almost the literal term for this product considering the solution seems not only diluted but overrated hyped with the Dior label. This is as effective as water with alcohol, the alleged nourishing properties were misleading.

  • Dior J'adore L'absolu

With a glass vial abstractly curved to represent the curves of a woman, it speaks grace and romance. This warms the air of a soft musk with a gentle yet sultry set of notes reminiscant of florals and light spice. It is so pleasing to spritz. The price to pay for luxury is the return of satisfaction when it comes to J'adore.
