    Benefit Get Even Pressed Powder

    Great Match for my Undertone...

When used lightly, this powder is a great way to even your skin tone via matching my skin's undertone. I never would have thought that by looking at it, the yellow color would be a good match. Usually, I try to match my skin color, not the undertone, but the girl at the make up counter really seemed to know what she was talking about when she suggested the #2 powder for my deep tan skin. With a fan brush as the applicator, the powder went on smoothly without being too thick. And yet, it was just enough coverage to diminish blemishes here and there, and this is coming from someone with some discoloration here and there on my face. The only downside is that the powder does leave my skin feeling a bit dry, so I need to make sure that my skin is well moisturized before applying it.

  • Benefit Fantail Brush

The first time I used a fan brush was at a Benefit counter in San Mateo, CA. Firstly, this girl calls me over to test one of Benefits three get even face powders on me; I was quite skeptical, since no face powder anywhere seems to match me. But with the light touch of this brush, the powder #2 was a perfect match to my yellow/orange/deep tan skin color. I ended up buying the brush a year later in London, but better late than never! It's the perfect way to blend powder onto the face without the cake-i-ness of the pad/applicator that comes with the powder compact. And the touch on your skin just feels so nice!

    Benefit Erase Paste

    Skeptical, but very pleased!

Looking at erase paste, I was so very skeptical that it would blend with my skin tone. I'm a deep tan with yellow/orange undertones, but more yellow. The color I used was the deep, and it surprisingly works very well as a brightening concealer. I sometimes use the get even #2 powder with the erase paste. Just in case, I have the darkest cream foundation compact by Benefit (can't remember the product name, but there's a record on the outside of the compact) to use with the other products, in case my skin darkens this summer. So with benefit, I feel very prepared for when my skin color is lighter or darker! The only problem that I had is that if you sweat with the make-up on, it partially melts off your face, looking like you didn't blend it in very well. I did find the product to not so easily blend into the skin, but I used Oil of Olay's foaming moisturizer both before and after applying the erase paste, and it blended quite nicely.
