I had high hopes for this product, but boy was I let down. My skin felt really tight immediately after putting this serum on so I always felt rushed to pile on the Hope in a Jar moisturizer immediately afterward. I also hated the rancid smell it has and, on top of that, the runny consistency of the product. Most importantly, I noticed no change in the tone of my skin.

I got this as part of the Makeup Optional kit which included the Purity Cleanser, Hope in a Tube eye/lip cream, and When Hope is Not Enough serum for about 100 CAD at Sephora and I really wanted to like this product. Heck, if Oprah loves it then I should, too, right?? NOPE. The purity cleanser dried out my skin (I'm normal/combination); the serum felt like I was just putting on droplets of water; and this did little to help the dry skin patches I regularly get during the transition from winter to spring. A lot of reviewers have commented on the smell and I personally thought it was a pleasant smell! It's got lactic acid which is good, but not the best for helping smooth out the appearance of wrinkles. Glycolic acid, also belonging to the AHA family, is a lot better than Lactic since it has a much smaller molecular size and is thus most easily absorbed by our skin. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I read the ingredient list and don't remember lactic acid even being in the top 10 which is NOT good. Overall, good but not good enough.

I cannot say enough about this product. It is all natural and cruelty free. CoQ10 is one of the best anti-aging ingredients out there and this has lots of it! I use it mostly during the morning after waking up. If you have a hard time waking up in the morning, then get your bum off the bed, head straight to the bathroom and put this on your skin. It's got this minty feeling that instantly wakes you up! One of the best things about this cleanser is that it isn't so harsh, making it ideal to use in the morning as our skin definitely does not need anything too harsh as it would in the evening when bacteria, dirt, and pollution have accumulated on our skin. It gently cleanses the skin and leaves it feeling soft and supple immediately after it is washed off. Definitely worth a try. Besides, it is relatively cheap -- I got mine for about 13 CAD.
