Aveda Tourmaline Charged Exfoliating Cleanser

Flaky skin, be gone!

I have odd, combination skin. It is extremely dry and flaky, yet after a couple of hours, my t-zone is an oil spill. The Tourmaline Exfoliating Cleanser gently scrubs away the flaky mess and leaves my skin radiant and smooth. Even if you have skin that is on the normal/oily side, I would recommend using this once a week for a nice glow.

Aveda Reusable Organic Tote Bag

Save the bird!!

You know that picture of the poor bird that is on the tag attached to the tote? Yeah, that's "the bird" and we've got to save him! All jokes aside, I was more than happy to make my donation to get this great tote bag. I especially like the color of the tote. The blended fibers disguise all of the little messy spots from my using it so much (like, every day!). I can't wait for next year's Earth Month!

Aveda Caribbean Therapy Soy Wax Candle

Lulls me to sleep!

I ADORE this scent! I must have this soy wax candle lit before I go to sleep every night. The scent is so relaxing, I instantly get happier when I smell it. The candle burns for quite some time, leaving my environment smelling great. Not only does soy wax burn cleaner, but you can use some of the softened wax on your most dry spots, such as the elbows or heels.

Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Conditioner

Spoiled from Sap Moss

Perhaps I got spoiled on the now-retired Sap Moss Shampoo and Conditioning Detangler, but the Dry Remedy line doesn't perform half as well. It promises to "drench your hair in moisture", but compared to the Sap Moss products, it's just a regular conditioner. The consistency also displeases me, with it's yucky, runny texture. If you've got very dry hair, but don't want to weigh it down (great for fine hair), this will do the job. If you used to use Sap Moss, well, be prepared to be disappointed by the product that replaced it.

Aveda Flax Sticks # 1-3 Eye Color Brushes

The fibers on the Flax Sticks Brushes were made to be used with Aveda's eye colors. The fibers really grab the color and sweep it on and blend smoothly.They do not produce too much of a shadowy mess, which I really appreciate.

Aveda Petal Essence Eye Definer

One of my least favorite Aveda products.

I am a huge fan of Aveda prodcuts, but the Petal Essence Eye Definer is at the bottom of my list. While I like the variety of colors they offer, the pencil just does not last. It smudges way too easily, for one thing. If you use it on your top lid, you are guaranteed to have that little half-moon of liner pressed onto your upper lid. Even if I do not line my lower lash line, I still get a ton of smudging under my eye. I am hardly a make-up newbie, and I haven't found a single application technique that will prevent this from going everywhere. Secondly, even if I get the pencil to stay somewhere where it's supposed to be, the color does not last but for a couple of hours. I find myself having to reapply it frequently. Yikes! If you are searching for an eye pencil that gives you a long-lasting, stay-in-place look, then skip this product.
