We've been getting a lot of questions about frizz from Total Beauty Readers (I'm assuming it's because most of us have the heat cranking since it's been so cold).
I asked Anna, our Associate Editor to answer the big one ...
What products should be used to keep frizz to a minimum?
4 RepliesI like to use a gel. I have curly hair and I just massage some gel thru my hair after the styling is done. I like Suave All Day Hold.
Hi guys!
Frizz is no one's friend, but unfortunately it attacks women with wavy and curly hair most. The key to fighting frizz is moisture, moisture, moisture. First thing you can do to keep frizz at bay is to stop flat ironing your hair. The high heat depletes your hair's natural oils and can burn the hair cuticle, all causing frizz. Also, make sure you aren't over shampooing. Too much washing can dry out your strands. Ideally, you should be using shampoo 2-4 times a week. While shampoo might not be your BFF, conditioner and deep conditioning treatments definitely should be. To fight frizz, you should be doing a weekly deep-conditioning treatment. Once you have embraced the previous advice, taming creams, shine serums, and curl enhancing mousses can all be used to help ease frizz. Hope this helps! I have been fighting the ugly frizz bug my whole life!!! I agree 100% with Anna. She is totally correct in all she said. But recently I found a product that works better than any of all the products I have ever tried. Hey my hair frizzes when I open up the dish washer! It is by " QUIDAD; HEAT & HUMIDITY GEL" I finally at the young age of 58 LOVE my hair again. secret, it last for days.
I just tried Ouidad for the first time. loved it. I have natural wave and that stuff stopped my frizz for a whole day and made great curls. Give it a try.
Also thanks for the types. I will never stuff flat ironing so whats the next step?? lol
